I had strepp throat every year when I was a child and my tonsils became very infected. So eventually I had a tonsilectamy. After the surgery, my mother told me that my tonsils "crumbled in the doctor’s hand," and that if I hadn’t had the procedure sooner, it would have been dangerous for me.

Years later, affter going through therapy, I’ve realized that my parents "exaggerated the truth" a lot, to put it mildly.

I’m no doctor, but I find this scenario difficult to believe. I appreciate all the insight I can get. Is it possible for one’s tonsil’s to just "cumble" before one’s eyes? I doubt many people have answers to this, but if you do, I’m all ears. Thanks!
