hey all, i got my tonsils out today. and yes it does hurt. (i got my tonsils and andniods taken out as well) it wasn’t hard at all. and the procedure was nothing either. when i woke up, it took about 10 minutes before i was fully alert and i actually got dressed and ready to go. drank an apple juice and walked out, well it was more like i stumbled out because i was hella doped up lol. but now they have me on hydrocodone/APAP 7.5 MG/ 750 MG. which means the stuff i take for pain is a bit higher then a viocodin. and it has Tylenol and codine in it for cough suppressant. your throat will be raw, and it will bleed from time to time, but the more you drink the better you feel. trust me, ive been gulping down water like crazy and yea, it sorta hurts.. but after about two or three gulps you wont feel it much at all. letting your throat get real dry is something you don’t want to do, because it hurts like a major Bi**h.. make yourself pudding and jello. i recommended buying chocolate, vanilla, and rice pudding. not only is it fun to make and preoccupies you. but in about 30 minutes you can have something yummy to eat. your throat will scab up and it is a bit annoying i will admit.. but DO NOT TRY AND CLEAR YOUR THROAT LIKE I DID.. it hurts alot.. despite that you cant talk and stuff. but its not that big of a deal. all in all, even though i had my tonsils taken out 2 days ago. this is nothing for a procedure. i read online about everyone saying its sooooo painful.. don’t listen to them they are being overly dramatic about it. thats why i wanted to write this before i went to bed. so that all you people out there who read up on tonsils and see all the stupid people saying its painful. i can tell you its not. on a pain scale, i give it about a 6 when my throat is dry, and about a 4.5-5 when they are wet. and that’s out of 10.

so dont let your tonsil and adenoid surgery discourage you with all the stupid people who say its horrible. its really not.

good luck to anyone who gets theirs removed, and remember, jello, pudding, and Popsicles!
well to answer your question, this is my first actual day that Ive had them out. and when i woke up they didn’t hurt that bad at all. it will take about 10 days for to be all healed up. on the 8th or 9th day i plan on trying bread and some other goodies cause i miss them. lol
but i also forgot to add, that if you take minute rice and vanilla pudding to make rice pudding, you will have more energy and have more protein then just jello and pudding which is all sugar.

so about 10 days max, and that’s with adenoids and tonsils. im pretty sure its the same for tonsils as well.

tell your friend good luck to her, ill try and keep everyone posted so that when people see the finished version of this informative question they can be reassured and not listen to the stupid over dramatic people on the internet.
