I’ve been smoking Newports for about 3 years now, Marbs and Camels before that for 2 years. Recently I’ve been smoking more than usual, almost a pack a day and I have been starting to cough up tonsil stones (little white/yellow balls about the size of a food crumb), I hear this as well as yellow phlem is due to an infection. Are these caused by my increased smoking?

two weeks ago i had pus on my tonsils, i garged salt water and it went away, a couple days later my tonsils became very inflamed and sore, its so bad now its given me a headache the side in which is worse my inner ear hurts and my eye.

I am having lots of pain from my wisdom teeth coming in and I think I am going to need to get them removed I’m really worried about it because I had my tonsils out about a year and a half ago and it was horrible and took forever to heal. the pain was unbearable. The vicodin only controlled the pain for about an hour before it wore off, I lost 13 pounds in 9 days because I couldn’t eat, and it took me nearly 3 weeks to be able to leave the house. And I was so weak for the longest time from the rapid unhealthy weight loss So I’m hoping that wisdom teeth aren’t as bad

I get tonsil stones around once a month and I also have pretty bad breath some days. Is there are reason to worry about it? Is there a way to get rid of my bad breath? It’s quite unpleasant and I’d rather get rid of it, but I just want to make sure that I don’t have to rush or worry about it too much. Thanks

I just got my tonsils out and i want to know what i can eat while i recover. Also, i want to know, when will my throat stop hurting?

I had a Papilloma removed from my uvula in between my tonsils, along with a Tonsillectomy on the 12th november 09′. (yesterday) because the uvula bled alot, they cortorized it and its very swollen, bieng technical probably a perimiter of about 3 cm, that probably doesnt help because my maths is appaling- anyway its very swollen- how long will it take for the swelling to decrease? (if you need to know im a 14 year old girl :L ) lol x

Any experience with tonsil stones? It looks like I got all of the stones out but on one side there is a lingering smell that they give off. I stuck a qtip in the crease and it smells horrible, but nothing ever comes out?? When I press on my tonsil it looks like fluid is coming out a little. Not sure if it’s just saliva. I have an appointment on Saturday to see a specialist but until then, what can I do to ease these symptoms. My tonsil is sooo tender from all of the poking around. HELP!

Around Tuesday I started feeling ill. Warm cheeked, sore throat, slight cough. Nothing I couldn’t handle though. None of the symptoms were bad enough to keep me out of school, even though they did progressively get worse. I figured all I had was the cold and I’d be better in time for exams the upcoming week. Friday came and I was starting to feel better. The muffled feeling/pressure in my ears was going away finally, my throat wasn’t hurting so much and the cough drops were keeping my cough at bay, but then today came. The pain in my throat isn’t so bad today, but my cough has gotten deep and hoarse, like it’s coming from my chest. There’s a severe pressure in my ears and the top of my mouth/nasal area. I have to breathe through my nose at all times because if I try to breathe through my mouth it’s very labored and difficult. I feel as if my throat is closing in on me. It can’t be tonsillitis or anything like that because I’ve had my mother look in my throat a few days ago and she saw no swelling(she’s worked at a doctors office for going on twenty years). But that was a few days ago. I wasn’t feeling like this a few days ago. Also, there’s a skin colored sack on the right side of my mouth. I’m supposed to go in to get it checked on once the sore throat is gone but it doesn’t seem to be leaving any time soon.

What do you think is wrong with me? Should I see a doctor Monday? It’s exams week and I’m really trying to not miss any time in school.

A week ago a white bump started growing on my tonsil. I went to the doctor due to intense pain when i swallow. I thought i have a bacterial/viral infection on my tonsil. She did not tell me anything. but I looked it up online and decided that maybe i had tonsil stone (tonsillolith). So i removed it with a cotton swab.
But it was a big enough piece lodged on/in my tonsil that when i removed it there’s now a big pocket on my tonsil.

What should I do to prevent infection or food stuck inside that hole before it heals?
