My tonsil stones usually just fall out on their own. but now my left tonsil is swollen and i have a bad taste adn it hurts a lot. i can usually see them but i have been pocking and prodding at my tonsils all day and when i do a bad taste fills my mouth but i cant see anything NO WHITE STUFF! soo idk if it is deep in my tonsil crypt or something but i need to know how to get rid of it i’m scared to stick stuff back there but idk. thanks al ot for your answers!

I was put in the hospital for three days about two weeks ago due to severe tonsilitis. After I got out my tonsils became infected and I was given new steroids and antibiotics. I was set to get them removed Wednesday but had a delayed allergic reaction to the medicine and broke out in a rash so the surgery was postponed. While still slightly swollen, my tonsils are much better. I’m set to get them out on the 22nd, but due to the obvious progress my throat has made, will they still need to be removed? I suffer several soar throats a year and was told that would end with the removal of my tonsils but if they are better I don’t know if I should still get them out. Any past experiences and help is appreciated. Thanks.
Well it was almost nearly closed up and it is a same day surgery. Obviously, I’ve seen the specialist a few times and he had good reason to take them out but since it’s been several weeks and with several medications they have gotten better but are still a little big. They would be out already if I didn’t have an allergic reaction to the antibiotics which I will no longer be able to take (it was the best medicine possible and the only one that actually worked). I guess I’ll tell my mom they are better though I know one thing-I never wanna have to go throw with this again (it was really bad).

Hey guys.. so I was just wondering if surgery can mess up the timing and cycle of your period? I had my tonsils out on august 13th and I got it period august 18th and now it hasn’t come for this month.. i’ve had sex twice but both times were with a condom.. I’ve been freaking out could it be the nerves and surgery that’s making it come later? If so how long will my cycle be altered?

I thought my stones had gone away now, but after 4 weeks I just found out last night when i was coughing that i still have them. Am i suppose to go to the doctors? My sisters a dentist, can she just scrape it out?
My throat does feel swollen a little and its a little hard to breathe sometimes.

My left tonsil is swollen and hurts alot only on one side.
My neck also hurts all the way up to my ear a little bit.
It hurts when I swallow and when I move my neck or do any vigorous moves
I also smoke once a week.
What is this sickness, is it viral or infection (I dont know what they mean)

I thought I was coming down with a cold, but now I wonder if it’s tonsillitis. I’ve got a small white spot on one tonsil. It’s weird because my neck hurts too. I haven’t had tonsillitis since I was 5. :O so I’m wondering if there’s any way I can get rid of it at home? I try not to go to the doctor unless I absolutely need to.

My symptoms:
-white patch on tonsil
-Low fever (99.5)
-Body Aches
-Neck stiffness
-Phlegm in throat (could just be sinus drainage.)
-My head kind of hurts.

Seeing ENT Dr. Friday for my 3 yr old daughter who has HUGE swollen tonsils. Had them for months now and no matter what she takes they will not go down. They are affecting her sleep and causing her to snore and not get rest full sleep. If the ENT recommends removal of the tonsils what can we expect?

Very nervous and would really like to treat naturally if possible. She is a very healthy, smart, and active little girl. I just don’t want this to affect her later and hear the recovery is easier on little kids.

every time i get a cold i seem to get this white thing appear on one of my tonsils, which today i learned where called tonsil stones. i did look up some remedies on how to get rid of them but no website would give a straight answer…apart from getting my tonsils removed. This is something i would really really really like to avoid so do any of you know of any other ways to rid myself of these pesty little things? I would appreciate it if you could give me an upfront answer and not post any web links as i end up not bothering to look at them. I get this little gross, foul smelling white balls that come out of the back of my throat. Its happened for years and I found out this year they are called "tonsil stones". It is happening more frequently and I am starting to get bad breath. I brush my teeth 2 times a day, floss and use mouthwash sometimes. I removed two huge stones from my tonsils today with a cotton swap–and before I did that I noticed my tonsils are red. They do not hurt–but since I smelled my breath I know something had to be stuck in there.

Has anyone cured this?

I have recently been ill with tonsillitis which was really bad, however when going to the doctors I had other symptoms not to do with tonsillitis and she was asking me about college and work and said that I had to much pressure on myself and was wearing myself out. Which is making me ill more it impossible to lighten the load from college, and I never get the chance to really go out and enjoy myself what other ways can I stop being stressed and worn out because I hate being ill all the time.
