tonsil and adnoids surgery.>the recovery?

okay so im am 16 years old. and i got my tonsils and adenoids removed on april 14, which was 4 days ago, and im in the worst pain of my life. my ears oh my goodness feel like fire is coming out of them. i had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic that the doctor proscribed to me so he took me off. and i have been taking Tylenol and the coding, but unfortunately the pain has not gone away. what do i take for pain.? and how long is it going to last.? any information will be greatly appreciated.

Are my tonsils dangerous to NOT get out?

I have really bad looking tonsils and for awhile they made me sick often, swelled up my glands, sore throats often, and snooring. Tonsil removal runs in my family (both parents and sister) so I am expecting to get them out naturally but they recently haven’t been bothering me. My glands are still swollen almost always but nothing hurts and i don’t snore and i haven’t been sick recently. Is it dangerous to just simply leave them alone or should i follow up and finish what I started?

I have a long history of always getting sick when I sleep with my hair remotely wet.

The worst, was one time when I was 12, I had gone swimming with my cousins, didn’t have a private place to change into dry clothes, no towels, so I slipped a long tee shirt over my wet bathing suit. It was getting late, so we drove off. The air was cool, and I fell asleep. Someone opened the window and left it open for the half-hour ride home. When I stepped out of the car, I couldn’t talk, and I got really sick. The doctor told me I had Chronic Bronchitis due to Streptococcus. I thought I was going to get Pneumonia, seriously! Now, I do understand that Bronchitis and Pneumonia are caused by bacteria, but are they always caused by bacteria? How is chilling of the body, especially the head related to immunosuppression? I’ve done research and found NOTHING.

When I was in middle school, I had a stupid habit of sleeping with my hair wet, and I mean straight out of the shower wet. It had something to do with my hair being curly and feeling more manageable when wet… whatever, it was a stupid idea because with every time I did that, I would get sicker. Keep in mind, that I wasn’t already sick when I did this, so it’s not like it was only making a preexisting cold worse. Eventually, I had to stop because I would get really sick anytime I did this, even if it was warm weather. So I would go to sleep just fine, with my hair wet, and wake up with shortness of breath, chest and
upper back pain when inhaling, plugged nose (with no mucus), and as if I had a thick mucous deep down my throat that wouldn’t let me breathe efficiently. The worst symptom, and the reason why I stopped was that I felt a peculiar headache-like pain in the the occipital section (lower back of my head), followed by tonsillitis, pain and difficulty swallowing, and sometimes even earaches a day later. Now, each time I did this wasn’t one time after another, so it wasn’t like the same bacterial infection just getting worse. I do have a LONG history of really bad earaches (ear infections since I was an infant) and I know it’s linked to my tonsils. My tonsils are in SUCH bad shape. I never got them taken out, although doctors tried several time to talk me into it when I was younger. I guess I never got around to it??

My tonsils look TORN. They’re asymmetrical and have missing pieces with craters. Sometimes, I get tonsil stones too. Nasty things. The back of my throat ALWAYS has bright pink bumps. I’m a first semester student nurse, and I can’t seem to find the link between all these. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid, but one of my patients recently passed away… and it all started out with neck cancer. I don’t know what the heck I should do, whether I should get my tonsils taken out because they seem to be a host for bacteria, instead of a protection against it. I get Strep throat during the winter almost every year, my tonsils get really nasty with exudate, and my Dr. warned that this bacteria is usually recurrent this way. Yes, I do get antibiotics for it, and I do finish the treatment. If I get my tonsils taken out, I don’t want to get a stupid infection in the incision site or have trouble healing though. I’m kind of scared to do so.

Does Chronic Bronchitis imply that it is ONLY caused by infectious microbiota? Is it always present? I guess it’s hard to understand when I’ve always had it. PLEASE HELPPP.

How do I prevent Tonsil Stones?

I know that I must have a throat infection and it is really painful. I went to doctors yesterday and doctor didnt even check my throat or ears and said its just ‘bad luck’ that Im sick. I am 20 weeks pregnant and went to doctors about my throat instead he said No your fine and did my pregnancy check up instead. It seriously looks like I need antibiotics. I feel angry with my doctor too.

Can smoking Marijuana make tonsil stones worse?

Swollen Throat? Tonsillitis?

I’ve been going through days where my throat and the back of my mouth feels swollen, the muscle under my chin feels feels sore, and I have discomfort in my cheeks and sometimes pressure in my ear and head. Also, I tend to be OK when I first wake up but as the day progresses, these symptoms become more obvious There are some days where I feel fine and have none of these problems.

Also, with regard to my throat, I notice that it is generally fine in the morning but the more I start talking and eating, that sensation of pressure in my throat (and feeling of pressure in the back of my mouth) gets worse. It’s almost as if I have to stop talking period to get some relief.

I’ve had all kinds of exams from bloodwork, endoscopy, neurology, etc and all came back fine. My ENT looked at my nose and throat with the camera and said all looks fine with my throat and vocal chords. He said that he does see where my tonsils were a bit red and he took out some white dough looking stuff that were in my tonsils and told me to start gargling with hydrogen peroxide to avoid buildup on my tonsils.

Question is, does the above symptoms I am experiencing sound like adult tonsillitis or something else? I recall my dentist telling me that I may be experiencing some myofacial pain syndrome but not sure if that is the case.
Yes. I was told before by a couple of docs that they think it is anxiety related. I have been more stressed lately and it seems to come on worse during times of stress. I know headaches, muscle tension, etc can result from stress but It just seems hard to believe that these specific physical symptoms (pressure in throat, mouth/tooth pain) I’m experiencing are the result of stress.

Tonsils removal causes dry throat ?

I’ve consulted a doctor, and though I"m not afraid any more for suffering a couple of weeks after surgery, the main draw back is that I dont want long term suffering.
I was told I have a large throat and if I remove them I may suffer dry throat all my life.

Tell me please if you feel this symptom if you had the operation done and how bad it feels ?

i know i have tonsil stones but i cant see them?

i know i have them ive coughed them up an can taste when they are there but i cant see them…where are they?? like behind my tonsils?

Tonsils and adenoids out, along with sinus surgery?

I’m fourteen, and tomorrow I’m getting sinus surgery, my tonsils and adenoids out, and a bone in my nose filed down because it’s blocking an airway or something. I’m really scared because I’ve never had anything done like this before. What can I expect for tomorrow, and how long will it take for me to recover and be back in school and everything? Thanks if you answer :)
