My tonsils are quiet swollen and i have white spots/lumps on them. i had a sore throat but it is kinda gone but i find it hard to swallow and breath. I have had a bit of a headache and temperature if that means anything. I went to pick at the spots but they are kinda stuck and i made it bleed a bit. Please let me know what you think.
Still havent been to the docs but my throat doesnt hurt at all now and tonsils are not as swollen but still have spots on them. should i still go to docs or is it gettin better now????

i’m into hard-core snoring, especially when i’m tired or have cold. its been disturbing my family’s sleep for pretty long. i went to see the ENT doctor, who after diagnosing me suggested that my tonsil is the one of the main obstructions in my sleep. at that time my heart and lungs have to work all the more, so that i get proper oxygen. i’m 37 now and the doctor said that because of heart and lungs overworking, i may land up with my first-heart-attack by 50. thus i should have my tonsil removed which stop the obstruction in the intake of my oxygen and also will put an end to the tonsilitis which i frequently get during winters. i’m just not sure, as whether a tonsil removal, is the soln., to my snoring and its surgery would not result in any other unseen problems.

about 5 days ago i started getting a sore throat. 4 days ago i woke up and could barely move i had NO energy. My friends aunt took my temp and it was 102.6. i rested the rest of the day and the next morning i felt even worse. my temperature was taken and it was 103.something. so they took me to the hospital. i was there for about 2 hours and the doctor told me i had tonsillitis. he gave me a painkiller, and antibiotic and some mucus membrane to numb my throat. since then i havent been feeling better, i am back at my own house and have been throwing up non stop.
here are all my symptoms. does anyone know what i have? or if my doctor was right about tonsillitis?
symptoms: VERY sore throat i cant swallow with out wincing. im not really hungry but VERY thirsty. the past 2 days i have been throwing up non stop and having really bad pains in my stomach. i have a horrible headache. and am drained of energy almost 24.7.
please no rude comments.
this is the most energy i have used in 5 days.

Please do not answer if you are under the age of 25 because my ENT said that after the age of 25, tonsil surgery pain is increased by tenfold. Don’t tell me how after 4 or 5 days you started getting better because I am on day 6 and it is getting worse. Is anyone else having the same excrutiating experience that I am having? If so, please tell me how you are coping with the pain. I am 27 years old, 6′3", 220 lbs and I have a very high pain tolerance but this is absolutely ridiculous. It hurts to breathe, I can’t swallow water because my tongue is swollen, and I especially can’t eat. Somebody please help me.

Here’s what happened to me: I got a rash on my forearms, which then spread to my legs, stomach, neck, and back. A couple of days later, my right arm swelled and was numb with pain, then a while after my ankles/legs became somewhat numb with my hamstrings and calves tightening up and I got shortness of breath and a tightened chest. I was originally given Biaxin, but I had an allergic reaction to that, so my Doc gave me Levaquin. I’ve been on Levaquin for 2 days, and it doesn’t seem to be improving my health. I looked at my tonsils and I see a couple of white dots on them, plus the tonsils are not round shaped but they have craters in them. Plus now I’m having headaches, my chest is tight, and my glands are swollen somewhat. My throat is not sore, but it’s starting to tighten up.I don’t think I got all of this from a spider bite. I’m thinking I may have strep or something similar…..please help! I’ve slept 9 hours in the last 3 1/2 days because of the numbness and pain.

I went to the doctors yesterday and i was diagnosed with having an infection in my tonsils. I was wondering if the following foods would worsen my condition because everything i eat hurts and these are the only foods that i can actually see myself eating.
Mashed potatoes
Chicken noodle soup, tomato soup,
yogurt
macaroni and cheese
p.s. which foods will heal my tonsils faster? cold foods or hot foods?

I’ve had a very sore throat for the past two weeks. It seems to get worse in the evenings, presumably after a day of using my voice. I find it painful to swallow, but I have no other symptoms, no fever or headaches or anything else to suggest that it might be a cold or similar. Could it be tonsillitis? Though there are no white spots on my tonsils… And does anyone have any remedies for soothing my sore throat? I’ve tried everything over the counter, tea with honey, gargling with salt water…anything else?

My granddaughter has been on an apnea monitor since 4 months of age. Her most recent sleep study indicates Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea. In otherwords, they say her tonsils are too big and need to be removed.
I am curious if other children who have had this surgery had any difficulties with the surgery and/or recovery because of their age?

I’ve got a tonsil infection – nothing unusual, I’m quite used to them and it doesn’t seem a particularly bad one so far! I can feel my adenoids are swollen as well. Now, the difference is (this is a little gross!) when I snort back the phlegm at the back of my nose and spit it out, it has a little blood in it. I think this is probably because I was snorting coke at the weekend – no lectures, please… But just wanted to be sure. Anyone any ideas, or should I take this to the doc’s if it carries on? Thanks

My mom suggested that I get my tonsils removed, but my friend tells me that my voice may change if I do get them removed. I’m in an Advanced Womens’ Chorale at school and I’m concerned about this, is the voice changing tonsil rumor true?

My son is 5 yrs old and had problems with extremely enlarged tonsils and adenoids.
The tonsils have come for the first time in his entire 5 yrs but the the adenoid problem persists from last two years. He snores during sleep and has a hard time breathing at night sometimes. He also has a problem with choking. The pediatric ENT Advised us today go for the surgery to remove both adenoids and tonsils. Is it better just to get it done together or just go for adenoid surgery right now ? Please advise us.
