Do you have to take them out? is it a necessity?

i’ve had tonsil stones (where pieces of food get stuck in crevasses of your tonsils) since i was 12 and in the last year its gotten worse.
usually every few days i’ll feel like i have one and then my cheeks, and head, and eyes hurt really bad.
currently i’ve had at least one tonsil stone for 7 days now. i cannot get it out no matter what i do and today i have horrible sinus pressure.
do you think there is a link since our ears, nose, and throat are connected?

On June 12, I am getting my tonsils and adenoids removed and that little thing under my tongue cut. My question is how should I prepare for it and what can I do after it. (like swimming)

my tonsils are big and swollen and possibly infected, when i turn my head to either side, my neck glands hurt..or when i don’t notice they don’t hurt at all..and sometimes i feel pressing in my throat..

are they infected? do they have to be removed?

I am trying to figure out what these whitish lumpy deposits that I occasionally get in my throat are. I have been researching them and they sound like tonsil stones to me. Then someone told me they could also be calcium deposits. How would I know if they are tonsil stones or if they are calcium deposits?
Ok one fell out and I squished it. It sort of crumbled and was almost a little grainy feeling. Does that sound right?

I’ve had tonsil stones for 2 years now. I managed to get it off this morning with the Q-Tip method. I want to know how to prevent them so I won’t get them anymore. Can anyone help me?

I went to the doctors yesterday and i was diagnosed with having an infection in my tonsils. I was wondering if the following foods would worsen my condition because everything i eat hurts and these are the only foods that i can actually see myself eating.

Mashed potatoes
Chicken noodle soup, tomato soup,
yogurt
macaroni and cheese

p.s. which foods will heal my tonsils faster? cold foods or hot foods?

Are there any risks in the procedure? Why dont doctors remove tonsils as much as they used to anymore? Has anyone here had theirs removed?- If so could you tell me about your experience.
