I am fighting a deep tonsil/throat infection. I have been sick on and off since the beginning of February with sore throats, fever, and ear aches/infections. Last week I went to the doctor for the 4th time since February because my tonsils were so swollen, my throat was raw, and I had a huge lump on the side of my neck. My doctor said I have a deep infection in my tonsils and that I need to see an Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) doctor to possibly have my tonsils removed. My doctor put me on antibiotics for 5 weeks (I’m on week 2 of my antibiotics now). My tonsils are still swollen and I still have a lump on my neck. The big problem is that I can’t get in to the ENT until the beginning of July. My huge tonsils and lump on my neck are a pain, and I don’t feel 100 %. Last night I had a low-grade fever (99.5), and my throat was so sore yesterday. My question is this: what can I do until July to improve my health? I’m a teacher, so I need to feel healthy and have energy. Any suggestions?

I have some tonsil stones and I would like to remove them. I can see them in the back of my throat… but I wanted to see if anyone out there has had experiences with them and if they have gotten them out themselves. I’ve had some come out on their own but ya know, I’d like to get them out sooner if I can.

I am a 25 year old male. I had my tonsils removed and a septoplasty about a month ago. Salty foods like bacon and cheese taste different now. Sweet foods like candy and ice cream taste the same. My doctor told me it was not related, but I have to dis-agree. Has anyone else experinced this?

I want to know if you by choice or by doctors recommendation removed your tonsils because of tonsil stones and did it work out for the good?

I have some serious tonsil stones and I can’ remove them myself. I know that a doctor can but what kind of dr? Do I need to see a general practioner or a dentist? I tried asking my dad but he hasn’t had tonsils since he was six so we’re both in the dark on this subject.

I went to my doctor yesterday because of severe ear pains and sore throats for a good 6 days, and he told me I had both Strep Throat and Tonsillitis along with the whole fever sickness. But the thing is, he asked if I’ve been coughing and up until today I haven’t. Now I’ve been coughing left and right.
I did a bit of researching on the internet, and according to a website if I’m coughing with strep throat it may be viral rather than bacterial.
Does this mean that the medication my doctor gave me won’t work? Should I call up telling him about this new symptom or not?

I’ve always had the occasional tonsil stone come up and never thought much about them but lately I’ve been getting them far more frequently, I’ve brought up about 12 over the last two days and they are so gross. I’ve been tasting them at the back of my throat but I don’t think I’ve had bad breath (I really hope not anyway). I’m just wondering if anyone knows how long they take to form and if anyone has had their tonsils removed because of them?

Can someone please list the different symptoms between Tonsillitis? Mono? Strep Throat? and STD in mouth? I’m not sure what i have. The only symptom I have is that it hurts to swallow. I ask this becuase my throat started to hurt when i was swallowed food/drank a drink. Its not sore/swelling. I dont have a fever(anymore), Im not tired, There isnt any pus, but there is a redness in the back of my throat. I dont know what i have…. I’m scared it could be an STD in my throat. I made out with a girl, and gave her head….(yeah ima dumbass) An hour later my throat started to hurt. I didnt give her head for a long time, but i know all it takes is contact. I had a slight fever before i saw her but now its gone… can someone please help me. Thank you in advance
I am currently taking some antibiotics, but have not seen the doctor.

There are so many people out there with the tonsil stone condition, and I hear there’s a list of special chinese herbs and a specific diet that prevents them. Does anyone know the answer?

I really want to get my tonsils removed like immediately cuz they’re giving me loads of problems! BUT my netball competitions are near and I can’t afford to skip 1 week of school, so I’ll have to wait until my summer vacations which is during June where I can go for the surgery. Is it possible for me to get back for training and school like 3 days after the surgery?

I am having my tonsils, adenoids, and sinus surgery on Thursday and I am 28 years old. I have heard the older you are the more painful it is! I also would like to know how long does the surgery usually take? I have a lot of health problems and I am afraid I may not recover as well! I have really really high blood pressure and I think they are going to do the surgery and send me straight home. I am very scared please help!!!

sometimes I cough-up these disgusting whitish little clumpy ball shaped things from the back of my throat, yeah and well this has been going on for years. And recently hear I started to get freaked-out thinking something was wrong with me, so I checked the internet and I came across ‘Tonsil Stones’, and how everybodys been describing that, it seems like that’s what I have.
But I was thinking what if it’s not tonsil stones…. could it be something else maybe???
I’m not really sure, so I’ll check the internet a little more.

My tonsils are always changing with new lumps/craters and now part of it is hanging off. No, I haven’t been to the doctor’s yet due to no insurance. Is there any way I could fix this problem at home or make the swelling go down until I get around to the doctors, I also want to know how bad this infection can get and if I could die from it? Please help. No bs. Thanks.

I have tonsil stones, and have had them for a few months. I don’t know much about them, but they keep coming back. I can kind of poke them out with my finger when they’re sticking out enough, because I’ve broken down my reflexes somewhat.
I just want to know what I probably did to get them, and if there’s any way I can permanently get rid of them?

I am an eighteen year old singer about to enter college this week and I believe strongly that I have tonsillitis. The symptoms are all present, and it hurts like you wouldn’t believe. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to the doctor’s until at least early next week. What is the best way to relieve the pain from tonsillitis using what a normal college student might have laying around?
