This is to those of you that have experienced tonsil issues and if you’ve had them out.
I discovered tonsil stones about two years ago and it drives me nuts. I always knock them out with a q-tip. I don’t necessarily feel them but they are always a little swollen and knowing there is something in it makes me want to knock them out that much more. I’m also concerned that it may cause bad breath. Do you think getting my tonsils out would be an unnecessary pain? Has anyone had them removed because of stones?

Sorry for the caps but I am so sick of these things. They are so irritating, my breath is disgusting and my throat feels so heavy and gross. I take them out with q-tips sometimes but some are so hard to get out I just can’t do it. Please are there any permanent solutions? I don’t care I will get my tonsils out if that is what I need to do, I just need these out.

Hey im 16 and just bought a water pick. I bought the water pick because I have gross tonsil stones and I was trying to remove them, I managed to remove everything but after my left tonsil started to bleed alot. I think the water irritated it… But what will happen!?

I think I might be getting tonsillitis. I have a little cold since Saturday and I’m getting a bad cough now. I have a sore throat, especially in the tonsil area and my tonsils hurt as well. I have trouble swallowing because the tonsils hurt too bad and when I talk as well. I also have an earache in both ears and get a headache every now and then. My mum said that if it continues today then we will go to the doctor tomorrow morning. I had Nurofen for children but that didn’t help with the earache, well it did but for about 4 minutes.

I have to go in for the operation on the 28th and have to stay overnight. If all goes well they let me out in the morning. I’m 16 years old and I really don’t feel like missing out on New Years but how well will I be at that time? How long does it usually take to recover? Will I be in complete agony or will it just be a slight sore throat? What are your experiences? Thanks a lot!

Its been ten days, the average amount of time i have heard it takes to recover from tonsil removal. Im still in lots of pain, and when i eat i get serious pain in my ears which causes my brain to explode. Ive lost ten pounds from not eating due to the pain and it doesnt seem that its getting better. How much longer do i have to wait and will i get better gradually or at once? THANKS!
